T-Mobile My Touch Q Review
By Richard Patterson on December 9th, 2011
The phone is a nice size, measuring 4.8 inches high by 2.5 inches wide and it is half an inch thick. The greater thickness is there to accommodate the keyboard, but it doesn’t make the phone feel too chunky. The keyboard itself features four lines of keys and there are some neat buttons there that should prove useful, such as the dedicated .com button when looking for web addresses online. The keys do stand slightly proud of the rest of the keyboard but it would have been better if they had been slightly more outstanding.

There are various different smart phones designed for different segments of the market. The T-Mobile MyTouch Q was definitely lined up for the entry level phone users looking to get a smart phone for the first time. As such there are plenty of features here to satisfy them, but the more experienced smart phone users would be better looking elsewhere.
The exterior of the impressive phone hides a 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM, which should be enough to satisfy most users. It provides enough power to enable the user to surf the internet, although it can be a little slow when processing sites that rely heavily on Flash content. This might be something worth bearing in mind if you happen to enjoy those types of sites. The phone could be a little disappointing if this is the case. You will get more than 3G though, as this phone comes with 4G capabilities instead.
Finally if you are expecting a reasonable quality camera on board the T-Mobile MyTouch Q you will be pleasantly surprised. The phone provides you with a 5 megapixel camera although there is no front facing camera to play with. However what you do get is a camera that is capable of reproducing really good pictures you can see on the 3.5 inch display. You’ve also got the added bonus of HD video capture, although the quality here is questionable.
However all in all the T-Mobile MyTouch Q does provide the entry level smart phone user with plenty to get their teeth into. As such it should be commended.
