Samsung Trance Review

The Samsung Trance is a sophisticated and beautiful phone that places a lot of emphasis on the music experience. A lot of the mobile phones of today play music, but few of them really focus on one file type. With this phone you are basically getting an MP3 player that is also a communications device. One thing that helps the Samsung 4490 Trance standout from the rest is that it offers extra music features like a variety of equalizer modes and 3D sound effects.

If you are someone that likes to make a fashion statement, you will really like the elegant design you get with the Samsung Trance; this mobile is very thin, measuring 4 X 1.97 X 0.55 inches, plus it is light, weighing only 3.53 ounces. On the front of the Trance is a beautiful 2.1-inch screen that supports 262,000 colors. The numeric keypad and the camera are accessible when you slide the phone open.

Some of the features that you get with the Samsung Trance include a phonebook that will hold up to 1,000 contacts. In addition, the Trance does offers the basic features that come with most cell phones; these include a vibrate mode, a speakerphone, as well as text and multimedia messaging. There is also a calculator, an alarm clock, plus a calendar, and a notepad.

For advanced features the Samsung Trance offers voice command, a mobile web browser, as well as email, Bluetooth, and of course its star feature, a music player. The quality of this music player really outdoes a lot of mobile phones.

One of the big disappointments of the Samsung Trance is that it does not support EV-DO. What this means is that you do not get access to streaming music and video through V Cast. In order to get music on your phone from V Cast you will have to transfer it from you computer via USB. The Trance does provide 1 GB of internal memory, as well as a microSD slot so that you can expand the memory up to 16 GB.

In addition to the music player there is also a built in 1.3-megapixel camera. The picture quality is adequate, but it is not great. For surfing the Internet there is also a mobile web browser included.

Calls come through loud and clear on the Samsung Trance, though voice quality is a little off, sounding mechanical. The sound quality of the speakerphone is similar. Audio quality of the music player is fantastic. The Samsung Trance has a battery rating of 4.5 hours of talk time and 12.5 days of standby time.

There is no doubt that if you want a great phone that is also a good music player, you’ll want to take a look at the Samsung Shadow. One of the best places to look for the Samsung Shadow for sale is online where you will find the best deals for this mobile.

Nice to look at but small buttons

Apr 4th, 2010

The phone is very small and sleek and pretty to look at. It is small enough to fit into my small girl sized pockets. It has a converter for money which i find very useful when travelling.

The buttons are so small that it hurts to txt using both of hands. It can be irritating when trying to do things quickly as it is quite slow.

Great phone with some flaws

Apr 3rd, 2010

If you are hard on your phones then this is the one for you! It is almost unbreakable, I have dropped it multiple times and it has barley a scratch. It performs very well for my uses. It is very light and the camera is decent.

The only flaws are that the speaker sound is very low which is bad for a music phone and texting drains the battery.

Simple to use

Apr 2nd, 2010

This phone is really simple to navigate around and I like the feel of the slide and the ability to rearrange menus to my preference. The speaker is good and I can hear everyone clearly.

My biggest dislike is the location of the mute button. It's on the touch screen so when I'm talking sometimes my cheek activates it by mistake. Mute should be on the key pad not the touch screen.

Lousy sound quality for a music phone!!!

Apr 2nd, 2010

This phone has a lousy music player, poor sound quality on calls and on music player, poor camera and no games.
