Samsung T819 Review
By admin on March 22nd, 2010
The Samsung T819 is a slider phone that offers some nice features, though the only thing unique about this handset is its coffee brown color. You’ll get a 1.3-megapixel camera, along with Bluetooth, a speakerphone and a music player.
This slide phone measures 3.96 x 2.03 x 0.55 inches and weighs 3.2 ounces; this is a solid phone that feels very comfortable and light when you hold it in your hand. The screen measures 2-inches and supports 262,000 colors. When viewing text and graphics on this screen, they are crisp and bright.
Some of the features that you get with this phone include a phonebook that will hold up to 1,000 contacts, plus you get a vibrate mode, as well as text and multimedia messaging. There is also an alarm clock, a calendar, and a notepad, in addition to a calculator, a world clock, and a stopwatch, a tip calculator. Another nice feature included with the ICQ, AOL, and Windows Live.
Of course you will also get some advanced features with the T819 Samsung, such as voice dialing and Bluetooth. There is also a built in 1.3-megapixel camera that can take pictures in five resolutions. Some features that come with this camera include five quality settings; plus there is a digital zoom, and more. The photo quality you get with this phone is not really very good, and in fact, is probably below average for a camera phone.
The music player that comes with the Samsung SGH T819 is very basic, and offers a limited number of features. You do get some personalization options too; there are a variety of wallpapers to choose from, in addition to alert tones and more. You can also record your own greeting message. Another nice feature of this handset is the mobile web browser, and you can also download music from T-Zones. You will also get a couple of games, but unfortunately these are just demos.
With the Samsung T819 the call quality is fairly good; the volume is loud enough, but voices do tend to have a muffled sound. On the other end, people can hear you better than you can hear them. The call quality on the speakerphone is about what you would expect for this class of mobile.
The battery life for the Samsung T819 is rated for 5 hours of talk time and 12.5 days of standby time. This handset is great if all you need is a communication device, but you could probably find a better phone for the price.
