Samsung Smooth Review
By admin on April 19th, 2010
There is nothing extraordinary about the design of the Samsung Smooth phone, but this probably isn’t going to be that big of deal if what you are looking for is a basic phone with some nice features. On the outside of this phone is a small screen that displays the time, date, signal strength, as well as photo caller ID.
When you open the Samsung 350p Smooth phone, you will see an alpha numeric keypad; the keys are plenty big enough that using this mobile is easy. In addition to having a nice keypad, the interface is simple and easy to use so you will not have to spend a whole evening reading the instruction manual to learn how to operate this device.
The internal screen on the Samsung Smooth measures 1.9-inches so you can’t expect a lot from the display. Some of the features that you get with the Smooth include Bluetooth, voice dialing and voice commands, a personal organizer and a calendar. There is also a speakerphone and a basic web browser, though the screen’s size makes it difficult to really use the browser comfortably.
Another feature you get with the Samsung Smooth is a VGA camera, and although the photo quality isn’t the best and there are few extra features, there is a night mode, which helps. In addition to the camera, you will also get a variety of messaging options; these include email, chat, as well as text and multimedia messaging. There is also a built in GPS that supports Verizon’s Navigator service. All data options with the Samsung Smooth phone will cost you extra money.
The call quality of this phone is fair, but not quite as good if you call mobile to mobile. The speakerphone quality is about the same, with the exception of some echo sounds at times. The battery life of the Samsung Smooth is rated for 5 hours of talk time and 14 days of standby time.
If you want a basic phone that is easy to use and don’t care a lot about the extras, the Samsung Smooth might be a good choice, as long as you can overlook the quality of the mobile to mobile calling. Aside from that problem and the extra cost of using data, this phone gives you what you pay for.
