Samsung Omnia 2 Review

With the Samsung Omnia II you get a Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone that is a solid mobile device that offers some fantastic features. One area where the Omnia II really shines over the competition is with its multimedia features. If you currently own the original Omnia model, you may want to consider an upgrade to the newer and better version.

The Samsung Omnia II is a candy bar style phone that is just a little bulky compared to other phones in the same class; it measures 4.69 x 2.35 x 0.52 inches and weighs a hefty 4.76 ounces. When you look at the Omnia II you will quickly see why this phone is bigger; there is a huge, 3.7-inch screen taking up nearly all of the real estate on the front of this device. When viewing pictures and video on this display, you will see a major difference from the original model; pictures and video look sharp and colorful.

For sending email and text messages, the Samsung Omnia II features a virtual portrait and landscape QWERTY keyboard that includes Swype technology. With this technology you can actually drag your finger across the keyboard to spell out a word. You will also get the TouchWiz user interface, which makes using this phone fun and easy.

The Samsung Omnia II is a Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional Edition phone; this means that you’ll get applications such as Microsoft Office Mobile Suite and Microsoft Internet Explorer Mobile. There are also several personal management tools; these include an alarm clock, calculator, and a memo pad, as well as a voice recorder. You will also get a Smart Reader business card scanner. Of course you there is support for email, as well as Visual Voice Mail. In addition, there is a speakerphone, conference calling, and speed dial, plus there is voice dialing and commands, as well as text and multimedia messaging.

For multimedia features the Samsung Omnia II has a built in media player that will support a variety of different file formats, plus there is a FM radio. There is also a 5-megapixel camera that features built in flash, auto focus and much more. Aside from taking still photos, this camera can also record video. The photo and video quality is really very good for a phone camera. To store your multimedia files, the Omnia comes with 8GB of internal memory, plus you also have the capability of expanding the memory with a microSD card.

Many Samsung Omnia 2 reviews agree that this is a solid phone and a great upgrade to the original version. If you want a good multimedia phone, the Samsung Omnia II is a nice choice.

This phones display is the best I have ever seen and the battery life is also one of the best. The touch screen is generally good and accurate although it sometimes doesnt register a single tap and you need to do it 2 or 3 times for it to work.

Easy to operate
