Samsung Memoir Review

The Samsung Memoir is an outstanding camera phone that sports an 8-megapixel camera, along with some really great features. The photo quality that you get with the Samsung Memoir T929 is so good that you may not be able to tell your photos were taken with a camera phone.
With the Samsung Memoir phone you get a device that probably resembles a camera as much as it does a phone; it measures 4.2 x 2.1 x 0.6 inches and is very thin. The 2.6 touchscreen is beautiful to look at with its bright and color graphics. The screen provides hap tic feedback so you can tell when the touch has registered, plus it is very responsive and easy to use.
Although you don’t get a physical QWERTY keyboard, you do get a virtual keyboard that displays in landscape mode; this makes it easy to send email and text messages. Some additional features that you get with the Samsung Memoir include a phonebook that will hold up to 2,000 contacts, plus some core features that include a vibrate mode, a speakerphone, in addition to text and multimedia messaging, This phone also comes with a calendar, a calculator, and a notepad, a task list, as well as an alarm clock, plus many more features.
Some of the advanced features that are offered by the Samsung Memoir T929 include voice command, access to web based email accounts, plus you get instant messaging, and built in GPS and a mobile web browser. The Memoir does support 3G, but unfortunately there is no WiFi included, which is a little disappointing considering that the Memoir is an expensive, high-end phone.
Of course the main attraction here is the 8-megapixel camera; with this phone you can take pictures in seven different resolutions, plus there are a number of advanced photography settings as well. In addition to taking still photos, with the Memoir you can also record video. The photo and video quality is fantastic, so much so you may decide to trade your stand-alone camera for this phone.
The call quality that you get with the Samsung Memoir is very good, voices sound loud and clear, plus there is no static to contend with. Even when using the speakerphone, the call quality was better than average for a mobile. The battery life of this phone is rated for 5.5 hours of talk time and 12.5 days of standby time.
There is no doubt that the Samsung Memoir phone is a high quality mobile that does exactly what they say it will, but it is quite expensive. The Samsung Memoir price is over $200, even when singing a service contract with the carrier.
