Samsung Impression Review

Messaging phones are incredibly popular today, and one of the most talked about of the new messaging phones is the Samsung Impression A877. This phone offers a bright and colorful display, great multimedia features, along with a spacious keyboard; basically all of the things that people are looking for in a good messaging phone.
The design of the Samsung A877 Impression is a lot like the LG Xenon, but with a nicer screen and better navigation, though it is slightly larger. The Impression measures 4.48 x 2.28 x 0.61 inches and is a little heavy, weighing 5.3 ounces. The 3.25-inch touchscreen is one of the best features of this phone; it provides sharp, brilliant color, and is really nice to look at.
The Samsung Impression phone uses the TouchWiz interface, which isn’t bad, though it does tend to have its problems due to the fact that you don’t get enough control over customization. This is a slide phone so the physical keyboard will slide out; this keyboard is spacious and easy to use for sending text messages or email.
The features you get with the Samsung A877 Impression are average for a mid range phone. Some of the features you’ll find include a phonebook that will hold up to 2.000 contacts; there are also some core features available, these include a vibrate mode, an alarm clock, as well as a calendar, and a task list. You will also get a memo pad, a calculator, and a speakerphone. For advanced features there is Bluetooth, and GPS, but there is no voice dialing, which would have been a great addition to this handset.
Of course with the Impression putting so much focus on messaging it is not surprising that you get good messaging features; with the Samsung Impression A877 you get support for email, text and multimedia messaging, as well as instant messaging.
One of the extras that you will get with the Impression is a built in 3-megapixel camera that also has the capability of recording video. This camera comes with several advanced photography modes, and really takes some great pictures. The photos come out sharp and vibrant. With the Impression A877 being a 3G phone, you can expect that you will have access to several multimedia features; these include streaming video and music downloads.
The music player that comes with the Samsung Impression phone supports a wide range of file formats; you’ll be able to take your music along with you wherever you go. Surfing the Internet is great too, as this phone does include a full HTML browser.
The call quality is good; voices sound natural and the volume is just right. Using 3G is also nice, even streaming video isn’t a problem. The Samsung Impression A877 battery life is rated for 3 hours of talk time and 10.4 days of standby. Although the battery life isn’t the best you can get, with average use tests have shown it to last longer than what it is rated for.
