Samsung Gravity Smart in Berry Red

The phone measures 4.5 inches in height, 2.3 inches in width and is 0.6 inch thick. Its slight chubbiness is understandable given its slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It has a sturdy and well constructed feel to it, which applies to both the exterior of the phone as well as its slide-out keyboard. It does lack slightly in terms of stylistic eloquence, but not enough to detract from the fact that it is a compact, neat looking phone.

Sitting comfortably within the front of the phone is its 3.2 inch touch-screen display. The screen supports a QVGA resolution of 420x380. Whilst not the highest resolution around, it is high enough to do everything to an acceptable standard. Text and icons are sharp and legible, whilst pictures and graphics are mostly colorful.
The phone ships with the Android 2.2 operating system, in addition to TouchWiz as its custom interface. The latest versions of TouchWiz have proven significantly better than past editions. They are less intrusive to the overall experience (with little bloat ware), whilst also adding features such as its pull-down notification menu, allowing you to manage the phones connection options (e.g. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth). TouchWiz also gives the option to customize a total of 7 home screens.
Included with the phone are all the main Google applications. With Android there is also the added ability to seamlessly integrate the phone with Gmail and Facebook. A large amount of applications for both convenience and entertainment can be acquired through the Android Market.
Powering the phone is a 600MHz single core processor. This processor lacks the oomph of those seen on higher-end smartphones, but nevertheless manages to perform consistently through the phone’s day to day operations. The lag that does occur is mostly negligible. If anything, the lower processor spec simply means that the loading and shutting of applications is not as lightning fast as it can be with other devices.
Built into the phone is a 3.2-megapixel camera. It comes ready with LED flash and camcorder capability. The pictures produced are of an average quality, often with washed out colors and performing poorly under certain lighting conditions.
