Samsung Galaxy Prevail Review
By Rob Webber on December 9th, 2011
There are some aspects of the Samsung Galaxy Prevail that reveal its cheaper nature. One of them is the small 3.2 inch screen that offers 320 by 480 pixels, which isn’t as large as those found on other more expensive smart phones. This can cause difficulties when it comes to using the on screen keyboard, as it becomes easy to hit the wrong keys. You cannot type at any real speed without making a few mistakes. The actual quality of the screen is not bad at all though, so once you get used to the size and the typing you shouldn’t have many issues with it.

The phone measures 113mm tall by 57mm wide, so it is a nice size without verging on being too cumbersome in your hand or pocket. It also manages to stay reasonably thin at just 12 mm. It is quite common to find fewer features and less advanced features on a smart phone that is available at the lower end of the price scale. But the Samsung Galaxy Prevail offers plenty of features packed into the handset, and one of the biggest surprises for those who like a proper camera on board is the fact that this handset actually has one.
The camera only has two megapixels but it does offer good quality pictures and you can also use geo-tagging with it. It also has video camera capabilities although these could be better quality. You won’t get a front facing camera with this handset but most users won’t find this to be much of a problem.
Appearance wise, the Samsung Galaxy Prevail could sit in among some of the more expensive smart phones on the market and not stand out for any bad reasons. In fact the design clearly imitates many other more advanced smart phones, so if you want something that looks the part while providing you with plenty of good features too, consider the Samsung Galaxy Prevail. If the specs appeal to you it might find a home in your pocket.
