Samsung Flight Review
By admin on March 23rd, 2010
Although the Samsung Flight is not a smartphone, it does come with a full QWERTY keyboard and a touchscreen. This uniquely designed phone has received mixed reviews, but most Samsung Flight cell phone reviews admire this handset’s quality and features, if not the design.
The Samsung Flight phone is a good messaging phone that features a nice keyboard and touchscreen; the problem is that the display is really smaller than what you need for a good multimedia device. The Flight is a little large by today’s standards, measuring 4.17 x 2.2 x 0.5 inches and weighing 4.8 ounces. The touchscreen on this phone is only 2.8-inches, which is smaller than most touchscreens.
Even though the Samsung Flight cell phone does not come with a full HTML browser, it does include the Opera Mini, which works nicely. The physical keyboard that you get with this phone is spacious enough that sending text messages and email is fairly easy and fast.
Some of the features that you get with the Samsung Flight include a phonebook that will hold up to 2,000 contacts, plus you get some basic features with this phone like text and multimedia messaging, an alarm clock, a calendar, and a memo pad, plus many more. There are also a few advanced features that are standard on most mobile phones, these include Bluetooth, voice dialing, a voice recorder, and email support.
The Samsung Flight comes with a built in 2-megapixel camera that can also record video; unfortunately the camera does not come with flash so taking pictures in dim lighting will be difficult. With the Flight being a 3G phone you will have access to some great multimedia, like streaming music and video, as well as music downloads.
With the Samsung Flight cell phone, call quality is fair, but the voices don’t have a natural sound to them so this may be annoying. Although in most cases the Samsung Flight does perform well, in few applications there appears to be some lag so the phone can run sluggishly.
The Flight is rated for 3 hours of talk time and 15 days of standby time, which isn’t really that great. With average use you will likely get more from the battery, but 3 hours of talk time is a little low for today’s cell phones.
If you can overlook the flaws of the Samsung Flight, this is a nice phone, but there are other phones within the same class that will probably perform better.
