Samsung Factor Review

Users of flip phones will be used to them folding up into a nice small and compact size. This one comes in at less than four inches in length, measuring 3.8 inches long by 1.9 inches wide, and with a thickness of 0.7 inches. It’s not heavy either, weighing in at an appreciable 3.2 ounces.

Cheaper clamshell phones are always going to have certain features that let them down, and there is no question what the biggest letdown is with the Samsung Factor mobile phone – it’s the screen. The user gets an LCD display which is only capable of showing 128 by 160 pixels. This is far fewer pixels than many other screens of a similar size, and the choice does let it down in the performance stakes. Don’t expect too much in the way of impressive colors either, since this phone boasts just 262,000 of them. When you compare this to the massive 16 million colors on many other phones you can see the vast difference between them.
However even today’s modern clamshell phones like the Samsung Factor manage to pack a few nice features under the hood. This one makes messaging easy by giving the user a choice of SMS and MMS messages to send. It also has the neat feature of being able to speak your text message, as the phone can interpret it and convert it for you. It should save on thumb ache for those who text on a regular basis.
The exterior of the phone gives you a small screen with the most essential information displayed on it – time, date, the strength of your available signal and the battery life left. You’ll also see if there are any messages for you by way of a message indicator. In short the Samsung Factor has all the main factors you’d want from a basic clamshell design, and it does well to provide most of them in high quality. Apart from the quality of the screen, this phone is worth considering for those who want something fairly simple.
