Samsung Epic 4G Review
By Blake Sanders on July 27th, 2011
The Samsung Epic 4G is larger than the other Galaxy phones, but for a good reason. You’ll get so many extras with this phone that you may not mind the high price at all. This phone comes with a glossy black finish and measures 4.9 x 2.54 x 0.56 inches and weighs 5.46 ounces. The Epic is a little bulky and heavy, but when you consider all of the features you get with this phone the size is understandable.

On the front of the Samsung Epic 4G there is a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen. With this display you can easily view text and colors are bright and beautiful. It is even easy to see when in sunlight. With this phone you will also get a slide out QWERY keyboard, along with a virtual keyboard that you can use on the display.
Some of the features that you’ll get with the Samsung Epic 4G include support for 3G, as well as 4G. You also get WiFi, plus this phone will service as a WiFi hotspot for up to 5 wireless devices. For basic features the Epic comes with conference calling, a speakerphone, voice dialing, visual voice mail, as well as text and multimedia messaging. Of course this phone also comes with Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS.
The Samsung Epic 4G goes way beyond the basic features. With this smartphone you get Google Talk, access to email and social networking, a front facing camera, and much more. For multimedia features you can watch streaming video, play your own music and video, plus there is a built in 5-megapixel camera that will record HD video as well as take still photos. The Epic comes with 1 GB of internal memory, but you can expand this phone’s memory up to 16 GB via a microSD card.
The call quality that you get with the Samsung Epic 4G is great, and the features that come with this phone work well. For battery life, the Epic is rated for 7.5 hours of talk time and up to 21 days of standby.
