Samsung Admire Review

The release of the Samsung Admire handset has given those users looking for a low cost mid-range handset something they will really be able to enjoy as it offers a number of great features and facilities.

As a mid-range device the Samsung Admire does not necessary tick all the boxes when it comes to a high end specification but the features it does have combined with its low cost make it a great handset for anyone who doesn’t want to pay the earth for a top end model but does want as many facilities as possible.
This cell phone has a number of features and facilities that make it ideal for anyone looking for a good Android phone that is fast and provides the user with as much as possible for a decent price, and includes:
- A 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen display that has a resolution of 320 x 480 and provides images that are both clear and bright
- The Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system that enables users to access the facilities of their handset quickly and as easily as possible
- Access to more than 250 000 apps that include games, business tools, social apps and many more
- The choice of both grey and red cases for the handset to allow for users to pick a color that suits their style
As one of Samsung’s mid range models the Samsung Admire comes with a reasonable amount of features that make it a great handset to consider but it is also important to consider the weaker points that this device has in order to make a more informed decision about whether or not to buy.
Pros
- Low Price: This handset is something that most users can afford, whether users are looking to buy the Samsung Admire on one of inexpensive contracts offered my MetroPCS and just as a handset on its own
- Great OS and apps: The Android 2.3 Gingerbread is a great operating system to use and when combined with the huge number of apps available through the Android market it makes the phone one of the more flexible and easy to use handset currently on sale
- Color option: User get to choose between the standard grey model and a red model, which give them a little more choice in how their handset looks
Cons
- Poor display: With so many similar handsets offering either higher resolutions, better technology or even both on their display it seems a shame that Samsung have opted for a screen with such a low specification
- Poor battery quality: Like most Android Smartphones the Samsung admire is okay for light use but for anything other than this the battery life drops to well below 4 hours from a full charge
- Poor call quality: Whilst addition external add-ons may improve this the general quality of calls can often be a little tinny and muffled making it difficult to hear on occasion
