Samsung Admire in Red Review
By Blake Sanders on November 8th, 2011
One of its mid-level handsets is the Samsung Admire Red, which is available at a highly competitive price and whilst not offering the most advanced technology that is available on other more expensive high-end products it does provide users with a considerable amount for facilities considering its price.

Considering that the Samsung Admire Red is only a mid-range product the features and facilities that it offers are impressive when compared to other similar models at the same price by other manufacturers. The cost of this handset along with its features make it perfect for any users that are looking for something slightly better than the entry level smartphones but are not looking to spend too much money.
Users will find a great many features and facilities on the Samsung Admire Red that will allow them to use the device in a wide variety of different ways. The features include:
- A fairly unmodified Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system that cuts out many of the extras that some manufacturer add on, although MetroPCS have installed a few apps that users may find useful
- A large 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen display that give users reasonably vivid colour and brightness at a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels
- The power to run most of the 250 000 great apps that are available from the Android market including business apps, social apps, games and a huge number of others
To ensure users are fully aware of what the Samsung Admire Red offers it is important to look at both the Pros and the Cons of the device before deciding to buy. There are some great things on offer with this smartphone but equally there are issues that may put some users off when they consider what they will be using the device for.
Pros
- Lots of apps: As with most Android handsets the Samsung Admire Red has access to more than 250 000 different apps that allow them to use the phone for business, gaming, social or many other purposes
- Great OS: Using an almost pure version of the Android 2.3 Operating System with appeal to many users who are looking for an uncluttering and simple handset, although there are some addition apps installed courtesy of MetroPCS
- Low costs: Whether choosing to go for a phone on contract or just the phone itself users will find that the Samsung Admire Red is one of the more competitively priced handsets on the market at the moment
Cons
- Limited Battery usage: With less than 4 hours of heavy use from a fully charged battery this device does appear to be poor when compared to many of the other Android handsets that are currently available
- Low quality call: Users may sometimes find their call can be a little muffled or a bit robotic, although for a little more cash there are external earphone and speaker options available to improve this
- Poor display: Users may be a little disappointed with the resolution and quality of the HVGA display on this handset when they consider that many of the more recent cell phones use the much higher quality AMOLED displays
