Samsung Ace Review

The Samsung Ace is a dual mode smartphone that is built to accommodate the international traveler. With this phone you get international roaming and voice coverage in 180 countries, plus data coverage in 100 countries. Of course not everything is great about the Samsung Ace i325; for example this handset does not have built in GPS like many of the mobile phones within the same class.

With the Samsung Ace you get a phone that’s design may remind you of the Samsung BlackJack; it measures 4.6 x 2.3 x 0.4 inches and weighs 3.9 ounces. With its soft touch finish, the Ace feels nice in your hand, plus it is compact enough that it isn’t a problem to slip into your pocket or handbag.

On the front of the Samsung Ace cell phone is a 2.3-inch screen that supports 65,000 colors. Obviously this is going to be one of the major disappointments of this phone; graphics don’t look as bright as they would with a better screen, plus the display is really too small for a smartphone.

On a positive note, you do get a full QWERTY keyboard with the Ace, and the keyboard is greatly improved over the Samsung BlackJack model. Due to an improved keyboard design, typing text messages and email will be a lot easier.

As for features, obviously one of the best for the Samsung Ace is its world roaming capabilities, but that isn’t the only nice feature of this phone; you will also get a speakerphone, voice dialing, and conference calling, as well as speed dial, and text and multimedia messages. In addition, you get a phonebook that will hold as many contacts as what you have available in memory capacity.

With this handset you will have access to the Internet and all of the multimedia that is available online, including streaming video and music, plus this device comes with support for Bluetooth.

The Samsung Ace is a Windows Mobile phone so you will get all of the benefits of this platform, including Microsoft Office Mobile Suite, access to email, and much more. There is also a PDF viewer, a notepad and voice recorder. You will also find some nice multimedia features, including a built in 1.3-megapixel camera.

With the Samsung Ace cell phone you get 64MB if onboard memory, plus you will have the option of expanding the phone’s memory up to 2GB with a microSD card. The call quality is good, with voices coming through loud and clear; connecting to the Internet is also no problem. The Ace has a battery life rating of 4.3 hours, but with average use you should get a lot longer before you need to recharge.

Pretty average

This is my second smartphone, but first that doesn't use a stylus. Not a bad phone  but not great one either. It does what I need it to do fairly well, email and web browsing. Hate the Samsung power plug though.

Not bad but could be better

The Ace has decent call quality, the camera is very good, buttons are very easy to press and spaced nicely, color display is excellent, lot of useful applications pre loaded However, the speakerphone isn't great, phone sometimes gets sluggish, the ring tone volume doesn't get very loud.

Great affordable smart phone

Sleek and comfortable to hold and carry. Great features and easy to use.

With the Ace you don't need to get an expensive wireless package like you would if you get a Blackberry device.

The shortfalls are that it can freeze at times and you can only send text pictures to an email address.
