Samsung A767 Propel Review

The Samsung A767 Propel is a mobile that puts a lot of focus on messaging, and although this 3G device isn’t a smartphone, it does come with quite a lot of features. The A767 comes with a slide out QWERTY keyboard that makes it easy to use for text messages and email.

With the Samsung Propel A767 phone you get a mobile that is designed in much the same way as the Blitz; it is square shaped but with rounded edges, plus it comes with a slide out QWERTY keyboard. The Propel measures 3.85 x 2.33 x 0.58 inches, and features a 2.2-inch screen; unfortunately it only supports 65,000 colors so you won’t get the most colorful or sharp picture on this display.

The keyboard that comes with the Samsung A767 Propel isn’t the most cramped keyboard, but it also isn’t real roomy either. It is well designed so using it isn’t a big problem and it is easy to type messages on, unless you have really large hands.

Some of the features that you get with the Samsung Propel A767 include a phonebook that supports an incredible 1,000 contacts, plus there are the basic features that you get with most cell phones, such as a vibrate mode, a speakerphone, as well as text and multimedia messaging. There are also some personal management tools like an alarm clock, a calendar, a notepad, and a tip calculator, in addition to a world time clock, a timer, and a stopwatch, plus a voice recorder. Some of the more advanced features that come with this mobile phone include instant messaging, mobile email, Bluetooth, as well as Assisted GPS.

With the Samsung A767 Propel being a 3G phone you will have access to a lot of multimedia, such as music downloads and streaming video. There is also a built in music player that supports several file formats, including MP3, MIDI, MMF, WAV, SMAF, and AAC+.

Another nice feature of the Samsung A767 is the included 1.3-megapixel camera; with this camera you can also record video. The photo and video quality is very good; pictures are crisp and sharp, though the colors are not quite as bright as they should be.

The call quality you get with the A767 Samsung is great, but you might get some static. The battery life for this phone is rated for 5 hours of talk time and over 10 days of standby time, though with average use you will likely have to recharge more than this, as the battery does drain quickly.

Although the Samsung A767 Propel does offers some great features, the design leaves something to be desired, plus it does not offer a long lasting charge on the battery.

A great Samsung cell

Apr 7th, 2010

This is a seek, Stylish phone. It has a Qwerty keypad, Tons of custom shortcuts and dedicated keys, very functional keypad with thoughtful layout. Slides for locking and unlocking phone. Very easy menu layout.

The keys could have better grip and be raised slighty more; however, typing is easier than it appears. I'm a guy with average sized hands, bigger hands may wish to Opt for someting else.

Great first impression

I really like the size of this, the queary key board is really great and easy to use, however the volume is bad, hard time hearing it ring.

Overall the phone would be great, however, why pay for internet to get your email when you cannot download pictures, etc.

Really love this phone

Easy to operate, nice size display. I don't text a lot but the keyboard
is pretty easy to navigate. The only negative is the battery. I have to charge it every night.

But overall I'm pretty happy with this phone. It's easily one of the best
phones I ever had.
