Samsung Flip A237 Review

If you are tired of all the fancy, high end cell phones that are so confusing it’s difficult to use the phone for what it’s meant for, communication, you might want to take a look at the Samsung A237.
The A237 Samsung comes in a basic flip phone design that isn’t all that spectacular, but it still manages to be a little stylish, as well as compact; it measures 3.74 x 1.89 x 0.63 inches and is incredibly lightweight at 2.9 ounces. Although not a phone built for rugged abuse, the A237 isn’t flimsy either so you won’t have to worry about it breaking easily. The Samsung A237 is available in black, red and blue.
On the exterior there is a small screen that displays information such as the time, battery strength, as well as numeric caller ID. When you open the Samsung Flip A237 you’ll find another display, though it isn’t a lot bigger, measuring 1.8-inches and supports only 65,000. The screen is very basic, which is okay for a simple phone such as the A237.
Some of the features that come with the A237 Samsung include a phonebook that holds up to 500 contacts, plus some basic features such as a vibrate mode, an alarm clock, and a calendar, as well as a speakerphone, and a calculator. The advanced features that come with this handset include Bluetooth, instant messaging, and a voice recorder; in addition to support for POP3 email.
Another extra that you get with the Samsung A237 is a basic VGA camera that comes with several different photography settings, though it doesn’t have built in flash. The photo quality is fairly good for a VGA camera, though not as good as you would get from a digital camera. It is still nice to have a camera on hand so that you can capture those unexpected moments.
With the A237 Samsung you will get some personalization options, including a choice of several different wallpapers, screensavers, and alert tones. This mobile phone also comes with some games preloaded, though they are only demo versions; to get the full versions you will have to purchase the downloads.
One of the problems you will discover with the Samsung A237 is that the call quality isn’t that good. The calls are loud enough but voices seem a little muffled, plus there is some static. When using the speakerphone the call quality is even worse. These issues are quite disappointing considering that this phone is supposed to have its primary focus on calls.
The battery rating for the A237 is 5 hours of talk time and 10.4 days of standby time, but with average use you will probably get more battery life than what the phone is rated for.
