Free Cell Phones
What could be better than getting for free, what you were going to buy anyway? Getting free phones from mobile service providers is not really all that unusual; many carriers offer these deals all the time. You won’t too often get the high-end cell phones for free, but you do get some very nice, mid level phones that offer some great features.
Who Gives Away Free Cell Phones
Knowing who is giving away free cell phones makes it easy to take advantage of these kinds of deals. The truth is, most carriers offer cell phones free when you sign a contract and agree to use that carrier’s service. You will find that a number of the biggest carriers offer free phones, including Verizon Wireless, AT&T, and T-Mobile, as well as several others. About the only mobile phone service providers that don’t offer free cell phones are those that provide prepaid service, such as Cricket and Tracfone.
If you visit the websites of these providers you will usually find that they are offering service plans that often include free cell phones. Not all of the plans offered will include free phones, but you should be able to find one or two plans from each carrier that does.
During the holidays there are even more of these types of deals that include free phones. In addition, the free cell phones that are offered around this time of year are sometimes better phones than what might normally be offered.
Some examples of the free cell phones that are available include the HTC Droid Eris, which is being offered by Verizon Wireless, and T-Mobile is giving away the BlackBerry Curve 8520. From AT&T you can get a Motorola Backflip, as well as the Samsung Mythic. In addition, Sprint is offering the LG Rumor Touch. These are just a few examples of what’s available for free from mobile phone service providers, but it’s important to keep in mind that these free phones do require that you sign a legally binding contract.
Finding cell phones free without a contract is usually not possible. These companies use these free offers as a way to gain customers that will subscribe to their service. In some cases you might be able to get a free prepaid cell phone, but this will likely be a buy one get one free type of deal, but even this is rare.
If you want to take advantage of free phones be prepared to sign a contract, but this isn’t a bad idea if you are planning on using a particular carrier anyway.
