Motorola Tundra Review

The Motorola Tundra is a tough and durable phone that will remind you of a Nextel phone, but with this cell you not only get support for Push to Talk service, but it also supports 3G, and has nice multimedia features.

With the Motorola Tundra cell you get a flip phone that is a little chunky, which is to be expected from this type of phone; the Tundra measures 3.85 x 2.10 x 0.96 inches and weighs 4.94 ounces, which is slightly heavy for a mobile phone. One of the reasons that it is a little bigger and heavier is because it is constructed to be durable with military certification for its ability to withstand shock, vibration, and water resistance. There is also an antenna, though it is not extendable.

On the outside of the phone is a small, 1-inch screen, which might be a little too small to be very useful. The screen shows the user information such as how much battery life there is left, the time, etc. When you flip open the Motorola Tundra you’ll see a 2.2-inch screen that supports 262,000 colors so graphics look bright and colorful and images are sharp. This phone features a keypad and navigation controls that are easy to use; the keypad is spacious enough that typing out text messages shouldn’t be a problem at all.

Some of the core features that come with the Motorola Tundra cell include a vibrate mode, text and multimedia messaging, plus there is a calendar, download and file manager, and an alarm clock. You also get a world clock, a calculator, and a voice recorder, as well as a phonebook with enough room to hold hundreds of contacts. One great feature is the inclusion of Assisted-GPS, which is nice to have if you tend to travel.

With the Tundra being a 3G phone you get access to a wide array of multimedia services, including streaming video, and music. There is also a music player included with support for MP3, AAC, eAAC+, and WMA file formats.

Along with the music player the Motorola Tundra features a built in 2-megapixel camera that can also record video. The camera is one area where there is some disappointment; even when using the special lighting modes the photo and video quality just isn’t too good. The pictures seem a little washed out.

You do get plenty of storage, as the Tundra comes with 100MB of internal memory, plus you can expand that memory up to 8GB with a microSD card. With CrystalTalk technology the call quality is very good with voices being easy to hear, without a lot of background noise interference.

The battery life on this phone is rated for 5 hours of talk time and 14 days of standby time.

This phone looks a bit dated now. I accept it is a good phone but I pesonnally would prefer something more Slick and stylish.

Great call quality to this phone, clear and crisp sound. A very durable phone which should take some knocks. The raised keys for texting are excellent and make it so easy. Not many typo's now. Wonderful phone.
