Motorola Titanium Review

One example of the great phones being released by Motorola recently is the release of the Motorola Titanium which has been designed to provide users with a handset with a decent set of specs and be capable of withstanding a lot of heavy misuse.
Like any other handset in the Motorola range this latest offering has been made to cater for a particular kind of user and in the case of the Motorola Titanium that user is someone who doesn’t mind trading the latest technology for a phone that is easy to use and incredibly durable. Some of the great features that are included on this handset include:
- An Incredibly durable handset that is capable of coping with high and low temperatures, vibration, shock, pressure, dust and even solar radiation to military spec 810G
- A QWERTY keyboard under the display that allows users to type much faster than any on-screen keyboard ever could
- A 3.1 inch capacitive touch screen display that has a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels
- The Android 2.1 Éclair operating system that allows users to set their interface up how they want to ensure fast easy access to tools and apps they use regularly
With the features and facilities on the Motorola Titanium it is likely that there are a number of things about this handset that will appeal to some users but not others. There are, however, some things about the handset that seen as good or bad by all users and these are the things that should be considered when buying the Motorola Titanium
Pros
- Great call quality: Both incoming and outgoing calls on this handset have great clarity making every conversation easy to understand
- Highly durable: The military specs on this handset make it one of the most damage-proof handsets available and perfect for users who are planning to use the device under extreme conditions
- Good battery life: When compared to most cell phone of a similar specification the talk and standby times on this handset are quite impressive with an expected standby time of 235 hours and a talk time of around 6.75 hours
Cons
- Low overall performance: The 512MB of internal memory combined with the 504MHz processor on this handset mean that its performance is a little limited which means that most apps will be a bit slow opening and operating as will access to internet web pages
- Old Android OS: The Android 2.1 Éclair OS is at least two version behind most current Android handsets and this can serious affect access to apps and the number of apps that can be used as new ones are created to work with the latest Android Operating systems
- Slow data access: The iDEN network that this device users makes accessing websites and transferring data extremely slow and even the Wi-Fi facility only fares slightly better
