Motorola Karma Review
By admin on March 8th, 2010
The Motorola Karma is another of the recent phones that have diverted from the oblong shape to a square shape. Although this phone looks a little different than most mobile phones, it does have some of the features that everyone wants these days, including 3G, Social Networking applications and a full HTML browser.
With the Motorola Karma cell phone you get a compact mobile that measures 3.42 x 2.52 x 0.7 inches and weighs 4.97 ounces. Although this isn’t the most lightweight phone you can get, the extra weight really doesn’t seem too noticeable. On the front of this phone is a 2.4-inch display that has a high enough resolution that text and images are colorful and bright.
When you slide open the Motorola Karma you’ll see a full QWERTY keyboard that is spacious enough that typing out text messages and email is simple and fast. Some of the basic features that you get with this phone include a phonebook that supports up to 1,000 contacts, including a variety of information for each contact. There is also photo Caller ID, a vibrate mode, a speakerphone, text and multimedia messaging with threaded text, a calendar, plus there is an alarm clock, a world clock, and a calculator, as well as a voice recorder.
Some of the advanced features that come with the Motorola Karma phone include voice dialing, Bluetooth, Instant Messaging, and Assisted GPS. With the Karma you also get access to several different email programs including AOL, Yahoo and more. The browser that comes with this phone supports flash so you will have access to sites like YouTube where you can watch streaming video.
With quick access to Social Networking sites you can keep up with what your online friends are doing on sites such as Facebook and Twitter. With 3G, surfing the Internet is fast and video downloads quickly; the only downfall with going online is that the display isn’t large enough, so you have to do a lot of scrolling to view web pages.
The Motorola Karma cell phone does offer access to online music sites such as Napster, and there is a basic music player that supports a variety of file formats including MIDI, MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, and RealAudio, as well as XMF.
For taking pictures there is a built in 2-megapixel camera that also records video. The photo quality is fair, but the video quality isn’t as good. Although this camera will work okay for getting that unexpected picture, it won’t replace you stand alone digital camera.
The call quality of the Motorola Karma is good, with voices coming through crystal clear; the battery life is rated for 5.2 hours of talk time and about 14 days of standby time.
