Motorola Entice W766 Review

The Motorola Entice W766 Silver is a flip phone available through Verizon Wireless. This phone is very much like the Motorola Rapture VU30. With the Entice you get a mid-range mobile that offers a decent set of features and some nice multimedia options.

The design of the Motorola Entice is very modern; you get a compact phone with rounded corners and a soft touch back that feels very comfortable when you hold it in your hand. With the Motorola W766 Entice you get a lightweight and compact mobile that measures 3.8 x 1.9 x 0.7 and weighs only 3.5 ounces.

On the front of the Motorola Entice is a 1.8-inch external color display that will show the time, date, battery strength, and photo caller ID. When you open the Entice there is a 2.2-inch QCIF display. This screen supports 65,000 colors, and though it isn’t a high-resolution display, it does provide a picture that is adequately bright and colorful.

Some of the features that come with the Motorola Entice W766 include a phonebook that will hold up to 1,000 contacts, in addition there are some core features that come with this phone, such as a vibrate mode, as well as text and multimedia messaging. There is also a calculator, a calendar, an alarm clock, and a stopwatch, plus a world clock, a notepad, and a speakerphone.

Of course the Motorola Entice W766 Silver also gives you some advanced features too; you will get instant messaging support, voice dialing, and access to web based email. There’s Bluetooth, GPS, and a voice recorder. One of the extras that come with this mobile phone is V Cast, with this you can watch streaming video, and with Rhapsody you can buy and download music.

An additional multimedia feature that comes with the Motorola Entice is a built in 2-megapixel camera that includes such extras as digital zoom, fun frames and more. In addition to taking still pictures, the camera can also record video.

The call quality that you get with the Entice is fairly good, voices sound natural and there is no background noise or static. Voices on the speakerphone didn’t sound quite as good, and the sound quality of music is about the same. The battery of this phone is rated for 5.5 hours of talk time and 16.5 days of standby time.

There is no doubt that the Motorola W766 Entice is a good quality mid level phone with some very nice features, but at the same time Verizon Wireless does charge some high prices for their calling plans. In addition to price, another problem with this phone is that the quality of the streaming video isn’t as good as it should be.

The Motorola Entice W766 Silver is a nice looking clamshell flip phone, and it does have a lot to offer in features. If you can find this phone at a reasonable price it would be a good choice.
