Motorola Droid X2 Review
By Blake Sanders on November 1st, 2011
Motorola has had to take a serious look at the cell phones it has been releasing over recent years and it has had to fight very hard to compete with many of the other handset manufacturers that have been rapidly increasing their market share.
This focus on improving its designs has recently led Motorola to release a number of very impressive handsets and one of these is the Motorola Droid X2 cell phone which is an upgraded version of the Droid X model. This new handset is similar to its predecessor in terms of looks but internal it has undergone a serious overhaul.

The technology that has been packed into the Motorola Droid X2 should make it an incredibly popular handset for any users that are looking for a well designed high-end cell phone at a reasonable price. Users will find plenty of great features that will make it perfect for a huge number of different things and these include:
- Super-fast boot and app loading times using a Tegra 2 dual-core 1GHz processor which is capable of handling anything from data intensive apps to the latest 3D games
- A high quality 4.3 inch qHD display with a resolution of 960 x 540 that offers one of the best picture outputs of any phone when it comes to resolution, color depth and display angle
- Storage capacity of 4GB internally with a microSD slot that can house an extra 8GB, which should be able to store a fair amount of information
- The Android V2.2 (Froyo) build with minor customisation and a number of built in extra apps to give users that extra bit of functionality
When compared to the other Android cell phones on the market the Motorola Droid X2 comes with more than enough features and facilities to help it compete with the big name brands like Samsung and Apple. Like other similar handsets this device has its good points and its bad points, and it is these that will help users decide whether this is the cell phone they want to go for.
Pros
- High speed processor: The Tegra 2 dual core 1GHz processor is extremely powerful and can handle the very latest apps with ease
- Great call quality: This handset provides excellent audio quality when making and receiving calls
Cons
- Battery Life: Using the Motorola Droid X2 for anything but the most basic things can seriously impact the lifespan of the handsets battery and this means that an heavy duty access can drain the battery in almost no time making a second battery an important consideration
- No 4G access: With more and more handsets now offering 4G connectivity it seems odd that Motorola are only offering 3G access in this handset
- Limited HD recording: The recording capabilities of this handset only stretch to 720P as the handset is not able to record at the higher 1080p quality
