Motorola Devour Review

If you like cell phones that make accessing social networking sites easy, you will probably like the Motorola Devour. As this is an Android phone, you not only get easy access to social networking, but your messages can be delivered right to your home screen.

Although the Motorola Devour A555 is a nice looking phone, it is a little bulky. The Devour comes with a slide out QWERTY keyboard so sending text messages and email is a lot easier. What you get with this phone is 3G, as well as WiFi so you will never have to worry about getting a good connection or slow downloads.

The Devour features a smaller screen than most Motorola Android phones; it measures only 3.1-inches. For taking pictures you get a 3-megapixel camera, which is also a downgrade from some of the Motorola phones such as the Droid, which features a 5-megapixel camera. The camera on the Motorola Devour is good enough to get those unexpected snapshots, but you won’t want to use it as a replacement for your standalone digital camera.

The slide out QWERTY keyboard is one of the best features you get with the Motorola Devour; with this keyboard you can quickly and easily type out text messages and email in much the same way you would with your home PC keyboard.

The sound quality you get with the Devour is excellent due to Motorola’s ClearTalk technology. This technology enables you to listen to phone calls, music and video with high quality sound. You might be surprised that the sound is actually coming from a mobile phone.

Although you do get a full HTML browser with the Motorola Devour, viewing web pages on the Internet isn’t quite as good as it would be with the Droid; download times are also slower. On a positive note, the battery life of the Devour outdoes that of the Droid; you get 389 hours of talk time and 18 days of standby time.

Those people looking for a great social networking phone will probably love the Motorola Devour; you can access Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace, plus sending text messages is fast and easy. If social networking isn’t your thing, you may want to consider the Motorola Droid or Eris instead, simply because they are better performing cell phones.

If you are considering buying a Motorola Devour but feel it is a little overpriced; the best place to look for some great deals on this phone is the Internet. Many cell phone sites can give you a look at the features and quality of this phone, plus inform you of any special deals that are being offered by the carrier.

Very slick design, Very responsive, with great apps. The camera lets it down, but I use a H/Res camera for my pics anyway. The phone is great but the camera isn't.

I may be unlucky but this phone was not good for me. It dropped 50% of my calls in the first week. I returned it, may of been a bit of a rogue but wasn't chancing it.
