Motorola Clutch i465 Review
By admin on March 8th, 2010
The Motorola Clutch i465 is a Boost Mobile phone that features a QWERTY keyboard and a lot of the same functions as you get with other Nextel phones, but you won’t have to be locked in a contract to get one of these handsets at a reasonable price.
With the Motorola Clutch you get a compact, candy bar style phone that measures 4.4 x 2.1 x 0.6 inches and weighs 3.4 ounces. This phone comes with a 1.75 screen, but it has a fairly low resolution so you won’t get the most magnificent display.
The design is not quite as sleek as some phones, but it is compact and light, which makes this handset pleasant to hold in your hand. With the Clutch you will definitely get a phone that is durable; it is certified by the military and meets the specifications for solar radiation, dust, shock and vibration.
The Motorola i465 Clutch features a phonebook with enough room for up to 600 contacts, and of course you get walkie-talkie PTT service, and email. There is also text and multimedia messaging, plus you get a VGA camera that can take pictures in five different resolutions; this camera comes with 4x zoom and more. Another nice feature that you get with the built in camera is that it can record video. The photo and video quality isn’t too bad for a VGA camera, but if you are not still when taking pictures they might be a little blurry, though the colors come out great.
Some additional features that come with the Motorola Clutch i765 include Java support, and some personalization options. There are also a couple of games preloaded on this phone; you get World Series of Poker and Deer Hunter 3.
The call quality that you get with the Motorola Clutch is very good; the sound on calls is loud and there is no distortion or static. Of course the call quality will likely depend on where you are and how good the coverage is in that area. The sound quality when using the speakerphone is also good.
The one problem that you may find with the Motorola Clutch is that the battery isn’t the best with a rating of only about 4 hours of talk time, but it is rated for over 15 days of standby time. Some additional problems include the inadequate display and the fact that the interface is a little tacky and can be difficult to use, plus there is no Instant Messaging.
Aside from these drawbacks, the Motorola Clutch i465 is a good budget phone that offers great call quality and a nice keyboard for sending email and text messages.
