Motorola Cliq XT Review

With the Motorola XT Cliq you get a sleeker phone that measures 4.59 x 2.33 x 0.48 inches and weighs 4.4 ounces. This phone is light, but solid and it is compact enough that it is easy to slip into your pocket or handbag.
The Motorola Cliq XT sports a 3.1-inch capacitive touchscreen; although the display on this phone is adequate, it isn’t quite as good as what you get with some of the high-end phones. Due to the screen’s dimensions, the onscreen keyboard seems like it is a little squished, and when using the keyboard it can be difficult to quickly type text.
With the Motorola XT Cliq you get a smartphone that runs Motoblur software and Android 1.5. With Motoblur you can merge your email contacts with your social networking accounts; this makes it easy to stay in touch with everyone. You also get an HTML browser that supports Flash Lite so that you can view content such as YouTube videos.
Some additional features that come with the Motorola Cliq XT include quad band world roaming, 3G support, as well as WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.0. You also get access to some great Google applications; these include Google Talk, Gmail, and Google Maps plus much more.
One of the nice extras that come with this phone include a built in 5-megapixel camera that has LED flash, as well as digital zoom and auto focus. In addition to taking still photographs, you can also record video. The photo quality that you get with this camera is very good for a camera phone.
The call quality of the Cliq XT is very good; there is very little background noise and calls sounded loud and clear, plus connecting through the 3G network is fast and easy. The battery rating for this phone is 6.5 hours of talk time and 13.5 days of standby time.
The upgraded Motorola Cliq XT is much better than what you get with some of the previous Motorola Android phones, but you probably won’t be satisfied if you are looking for a smartphone that is equal to some of the high-end devices.
