Motorola Atrix 4G

Recent years have seen huge levels of competitiveness between different handset manufacturers and for some reason Motorola haven’t really done much to place themselves above companies like Apple, Samsung and various others.

This, however, has all changed with its release of the new Motorola Atrix 4G which is being hailed as one of the most unique handsets on the market. With an incredibly high specification this handset is touted as being a replacement for a netbook or with a few accessories even a desktop PC.

When it comes to features and benefits the Motorola Atrix 4G really does pack it all into one amazing bundle with a combination of the latest technology and a totally unique user environment that allows users to really make the most of the device. The features that users will find on the Motorola Atrix 4G include:

  • Powerful 1GHz Tegra 2 dual core CPU that is capable of smooth multitasking between apps and can handle any that could possibly be thrown at it

  • A big 4 inch qHD capacitive touch-screen with a resolution of 960 x 540 that offers users an incredibly high quality visual experience that is almost without equal

  • Specially customised Android Froyo (V2.2) operating system known as Motoblur that treats users to the Motorola Android experience

  • Data storage capacity of 16GB internally with the ability to add a further 32GB courtesy of its microSD slot

  • High speed data transfer rates using HSPA+GSM, which has been loosely referred to as 4G by Motorola

  • A huge 1930mAh battery that can provide as much as 24 hours of fairly heavy use on a single charge

The Motorola Atrix 4G is a powerhouse of a cell phone that offers users everything they could ever want from a mobile device there are still both good points and bad point with regard to what it can offer.

Pros

  • Fast processor: The Motorola Atrix 4G has one of the fastest processors currently available for mobile handsets and this gives it a massive speed advantage over most of its competitors

  • Ultra Sharp display: With its 4 inch qHD touchscreen display this device can offer unprecedented levels of quality, whether it is with the latest games, apps or pictures

  • Battery Life: Compared to most other smartphones on the market the 1930MaH battery that comes with the Motorola Atrix 4G can offer as much as 24 hours of constant use with each charge

Cons

  • 4G support: Many would argue that HSPA+ is not 4G and even more would have expected a phone using 4G in its name would be offering LTE or WiMAX support

  • Operating system: Any Android purist out there may find the installation of the custom Froyo build called Motoblur a bit of an issue and the addition of a number of unnecessary apps, some of which cannot be deleted may pose even more of an issue

  • Accessory costs: For the Motorola Atrix 4G to perform like a desktop PC, as it suggests, there are a number of accessories that must be purchased to do this and while these accessories are incredibly useful they do seem to be a little too expensive to be viable for many users at the moment
