LG Rumour 2 Review
By Ruben Corbo on March 8th, 2010
The LG Rumor 2 is a candy bar style phone with a slide out keyboard, and it is a little bigger than the original, measuring 4.4 x 2.1 x 0.7 inches and weighs 4.2 ounces. One improvement is with the phone’s display, which does provide more vibrant and bright color. Another interesting feature of the Rumor 2 is that it has both, a numeric keypad, and a QWERTY keyboard so dialing numbers and sending text messages is fast and easy.

Some of the features you get with the LG Rumor 2, include a phonebook that has enough room to store up to 600 contacts; there are also some basic features such as a vibrate mode, text and multimedia messaging, and an alarm clock. You will also get a calendar, a calculator, plus a voice recorder, and voice dialing, and more. With the email features on this handset you can access many web-based accounts, plus you can view attachments, though you will not be able to edit them.
You will get a basic 1.3-megapixel camera included with the LG Rumor 2 phone, though this is one of the disappointments, as it should have been improved. There are a few advanced photography modes, such as fun frames and zoom, but it won’t record video, which is unusual for an upgraded version of a mobile phone. Although there isn’t really any upgrade to the camera, it does take some fairly good pictures.
With this phone you get a basic music player that supports MP3, MIDI, WAV, AMR, and QCP files. The sound quality of the music player is about average for a mobile phone, so don’t expect a lot from the audio features of the Rumor 2.
To personalize the LG Rumor 2 there are a variety of wallpapers, screensavers, and you can even change the style of the calendar and clock. There is also a web browser, and several Demo games.
The call quality you get with the LG Rumor 2 phone isn’t bad at all, voices come through loud and clear and there is a strong signal. The battery life of this phone is rated for 5.5 hours of talk time.
If you already have the original Rumor, there probably isn’t much need to upgrade to the LG Rumor 2, unless you want better email options and a more colorful screen. For those that don’t have the original, this phone isn’t a bad choice if you are looking for a good messaging device with great call quality.
