LG Octane Review

You will find that the LG Octane is a little bulky, but that is to be expected when you consider everything this phone offers. The Octane measures 4.21 x 2.16 x 0.63 inches and weighs 4.5 ounces. When in a closed position this phone has a candy bar style, though it’s thicker than most candy bar designs.

The LG Octane is basically a messaging phone so most of its focus is on these features, but you will also get a phonebook that will hold up to 1,000 contacts, a speakerphone, along with voice dialing and voice commands. There are also common features found on most mobile phones, such as a vibrate mode, a calculator, calendar, etc. In addition, you will also get support for mobile instant messaging for services like Yahoo, Windows Live, and AOL.
Some additional features that you’ll get with the LG Octane include visual voice mail, a document viewer, plus you get support for Bluetooth as well as GPS. For surfing the Internet there is also a full HTML browser. The multimedia features this phone supports include streaming video through Verizon’s video subscription service, plus you get a media player that supports a number of audio file formats.
For taking pictures while on the go the LG Octane has a built in 3.2-megapixel camera that will take still photos as well as record video. This camera comes with a number of editing tools so that you can edit your photos right on your phone.
The call quality that you get with the LG Octane could be better, but it is probably about the same as what you find with many feature phones. The battery life of the Octane is rated for 6.3 hours of talk time and 14.2 days of standby.
