LG Incite Review
By admin on March 8th, 2010
The LG Incite is the first US smartphone by this company; it features Windows Mobile 6.1, in addition to a whole multitude of business and multimedia tools, plus there is also HSDPA and WiFi. This is a phone that will be attractive to both business professionals and the consumer.
The LG CT810 Incite measures 4.21 x 2.2 x 0.55 inches and weighs 4.23 ounces. On the front of this phone is a large, 3-inch touchscreen. When the screen on this phone is idle, it becomes reflective and resembles a mirror. This is one feature that is attractive, though the finish will be plagued by fingerprints. Although it does have a large touchscreen, it isn’t quite as large as you would get with other smartphones, such as the Apple iPhone 3G, but this shouldn’t be too much of a problem and is really only noticeable when you are trying to browse the Internet.
With the LG Incite phone you will get a virtual keyboard, unfortunately it is a SureType keyboard instead of a full QWERTY keyboard. Once you get accustomed to using this type of keyboard it really isn’t too bad, and with the large keys, it will be easy to use.
Some of the features that come with the LG Incite include those that the business user will like, including Microsoft Office Mobile Suite, Microsoft Direct Push technology, the email features on this phone include POP3, IMAP, and web based email. Of course there are also some personal management tools such as a task manager, a calculator, and a stopwatch, plus a notepad, and so much more.
Along with WiFi, the Incite phone comes with the Internet Explorer Mobile browser, plus you also get the option of the NetFront browser. Some additional features consist of quad band world roaming, a speakerphone, and voice dialing, as well as voice command. There is also text and multimedia messaging; the Incite also features a phonebook that is limited only by the phone’s available memory. Some advanced features include Bluetooth and A-GPS.
With the LG Incite you also get support for 3G so that you can access streaming video and much more. For media this phone features Windows Media Player 10 and support for a variety of different music and video formats.
For taking photographs the LG CT810 Incite has a built in 3-megapixel camera that has the capability of taking pictures in five different resolutions, plus it can also record video. Unfortunately the camera doesn’t include flash or auto focus.
The call quality of the LG Incite is very good and the battery is rated for 8.7 hours of talk time and 12 days of standby time. There really are not any real problems to speak of with this phone, so the LG Incite would be a great choice for those wanting to experience LG’s first US smartphone.
