Helix LG Silver Review

The LG Helix Silver is a compact and stylish flip phone that features large keys, a camera, a speakerphone, and Bluetooth. For a very basic phone the Helix LG Silver does offer some fairly decent features. This is really a phone for those that do not expect a lot from their mobile; although the Helix does offers some features, they do not match what you get with most handsets today.

The silver LG Helix phone is 3.68 x 1.91 x 0.74 inches and weighs around 3 ounces. With the LG Helix silver you will get an external display that shows information such as the Caller ID. The internal display is a 2-inch LCD screen. It supports up to 256k colors and has a resolution of 220 X 176 pixels.

With such a large keypad, you can quickly dial numbers without having to fumble for the right keys. If the font isn’t quite large enough, you can always increase the size to make it easier to see. Another feature that comes with the silver LG Helix phone is a built in 1.3-megapixel camera. This little camera takes some surprisingly good quality pictures, considering its low mega pixel. Of course it won’t replace your stand-alone digital camera, but it is probably sufficient for getting those unexpected snapshots. In addition to this, you can send text and picture messages; this makes it easy to keep in touch with friends and family. You will also get Mobile Web, which is a convenient feature; there is also voice command and a speakerphone. Both of these features make using this phone very easy.

There are some basic management tools that come along with this phone, including a calculator, an alarm clock, and a calendar, plus a tip calculator. There is also a notepad, a calculator, and a world clock, plus more.

The one problem that you may find with the LG Helix silver is that the call quality on this phone isn’t very good; the audio sounds a bit muffled on both ends, but the speakerphone does provide a better experience, though it still sounds a little tinny. This phone has a battery life that is rated for 5 hours of talk time and over 18 days of standby, which isn’t too bad compared to many mobile phones.

For those looking for a basic mobile phone to make phone calls, the LG Helix Silver would be a good choice, if it were not for the bad call quality. As it is, there are probably several other models you could get for about the same price that would offer a better user experience.
