The HTC Touch Pro2 is a smartphone that has its focus on features that are perfect for the business user. Although the Pro2 is a little on the large side, it is really a beautiful phone; the front features a smoky gray glass finish, and the black casing has silver trimming.
As mentioned, this phone is big compared to most smartphones; it measures 4.57 x 2.33 x 0.68 and weighs 6.61 ounces. When holding the HTC Touch Pro 2 in your hand you will immediately notice how much heavier and thicker it is than a lot of phones, and this might be something that some people won’t like. Aside from this, the Pro2 definitely has credit for being made well; the construction of this mobile is high quality so you won’t have to worry about it feeling cheap and flimsy.
The good news is that with the extra size you also get a very nice sized screen; the touchscreen on the Touch Pro 2 Android is a 3.6-inch screen with 65,000 colors and 480x800-pixel resolution. This screen is nice for viewing text message and email, plus viewing images is a treat. There is also a built in accelerometer so that in certain applications you can view the screen in either portrait or landscape mode.
Another benefit of this phone’s larger size is that you get a full QWERTY keyboard, which makes is easy to send email and text messages, without having to struggle to find the right keys when you are typing.
Among the many business tools that come with the HTC Touch Pro2 include a new technology known as Straight Talk; with this feature you can create conference calls right from your email inbox. All you have to do is select the participants’ names and click on them. Some additional features that business users will find noteworthy include 3G, and WiFi, plus you get Bluetooth and GPS. The GPS system works with Google Maps and is preloaded on the phone. You will get the advantage of a text based turn-by-turn navigation, right from your mobile phone.
The HTC Touch Pro 2 smartphone comes with Microsoft Office Mobile Suite so that you can view and edit Microsoft documents. For multimedia this phone has a built in 3.2-megapixel camera, plus they have included the Windows Media Player 10 Mobile, which provides support for a number of different audio and video file formats.
The call quality of the HTC Touch Pro2 smartphone is great, and there really doesn’t seem to be any major performance problems. If you are in the market for a new smartphone, the HTC Pro2 is a good choice, but it can be quite pricey when bought on contract.
