HTC Ozone Review
By admin on February 23rd, 2010
The HTC Ozone is much like the HTC Snap, though it does have a few different features, as well as some variations in design. This is a mobile that has its focus on people who love to use their phone for text messaging and email, and you will also find that the Ozone offers dual mode CDMA/GSM, as well as WiFi, so you should have no problem keeping in contact with friends and family, no matter if you are down the street, or half way around the world.
As for dimensions of the HTC Ozone phone is 4.5 x 2.5 x 0.5 inches and weighs only 3.7 ounces. It comes in an attractive black finish, which does give it a professional look, but the one problem you’ll find is that it does have a somewhat flimsy feel to it. On the front you get a 2.4-inch QVGA display that is about the same as what comes with the HTC Snap, with the exception that if supports less color, but this isn’t really noticeable. Text and images look great on the display.
With the Ozone HTC you get a Windows Mobile 6.1 device so you will have Microsoft Push Technology for real time email, which is nice if you want to keep up on your email, but don’t want to be tied to your desk. In addition to email, there is also support for text, as well as multimedia messaging. Another nice feature with the Ozone is that it supports threaded text messaging.
Some additional productivity tools that you get with the HTC Ozone include the ability to edit documents, a calculator, and calendar. Of course one of the best features this phone offers is 3G, which gives you access in many areas around the world. You also get a voice recorder and Visual Voice Mail, and Mobile Broadband Connect. Although the focus of this phone isn’t necessarily on video games, you will find that it has a couple of games preloaded.
The camera that comes with the Ozone HTC isn’t the top of the line at only 2-megapixels, but it does record video. You’ll find that the photo quality isn’t great though so you won’t want to use it as a replacement for your digital camera.
The call quality of the HTC Ozone is pretty good with no background noise, plus there doesn’t seem to be any problem with getting reception. With this phone being powered by a 528MHz Qualcomm processor you should have no problem running different applications. The battery life of this phone is rated for about 5 hours of talk time and 13 days of standby time, which is about average.
The HTC Ozone is a mid level phone that is very reasonably priced, and it does offer some great features.
