HTC Evo Design 4G Review

Well let’s take a look at the processor for starters. The fact that it has a single core processor might set alarm bells ringing in your head to begin with, but not to worry. Those bells are unwarranted. Plenty of reviewers have tested the HTC Evo Design 4G very thoroughly with all kinds of demands and the phone stood up to all of them very well. Clearly it is not whether there is a single or dual core processor that is the primary concern – it is the quality of the processor that really matters.

Aside from the processor the phone also has 768MB of RAM. This sounds good on the surface but since the 4G has Sense overlay you’ll find that most of the RAM is sucked away to keep this going. This is something to be aware of if you like doing lots of things at once on your phone, because you’ll probably experience it slowing down if you try doing too much. Basically you get the Android Gingerbread operating system and the Sense overlay is added on top. This is worth bearing in mind at all times.
On sight the phone cannot be faulted. It has a nice attractive aluminium look with the top and bottom sections of the rear of the phone rubberised. This makes it nice and easy to hold, with little chance of dropping it. It measures 121.9mm by 61mm and it is 11.9mm thick, so it is a nice size phone. It also boasts a 4 inch screen capable of showing you 16 million colors, consisting of 540 by 960 megapixels. This comes in handy when using the 5 megapixel on board camera to take snapshots of whatever takes your fancy. You will also benefit from the LED flash and autofocus, helping to erase any downfalls in your own photo taking abilities.
There is no doubt that the HTC Evo Design 4G phone packs a lot into the unassuming exterior. With so much going for it, it should thrill a lot of users. Some of the more advanced users might find it wanting for certain features – for instance a much better battery life would be great. But if you can cope with that you might find the phone is well worth having.
