Apple has become increasingly popular over recent years, with its iPhone offerings developing an almost cult following of loyal and dedicated fans who have become obsessed with all things Apple! Its latest in the iPhone series, the Apple iPhone 4S, was released to huge droves of impatient and eager fans who couldn’t wait to get their hands on the device.
With the iPhone 4S, Apple has enjoyed continued strong sales even after the initial frenzy died down. In fact, according to Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), which recently released a report, almost nine in every ten smart phones being sold is an Apple iPhone 4S.
Since its high profile and eagerly anticipated release back in October last year, the Apple iPhone 4S has accounted for around 89 percent of all smart phone sales according to the data. The figure is already impressive but even more so given that the older iPhone 3GS model has been made available for free on certain contracts since the release of the 4S.
The report also pointed out some other facts and figures, going on to state: "Forty-two percent of iPhone buyers broke existing carrier contracts to get the new iPhone 4S. And 19 percent of these iPhone 4S buyers sold their old iPhone in the secondary market."
