In years gone by, a huge number of corporate workers and businesses used BlackBerry devices. However, over recent years the whole mobile device sector has changed, with the wide range of high tech smart phones that have come onto the market changing trends for both consumers and businesses.
According to officials from one mobile security providers, the Apple iOS has become a firm favourite amongst corporate workers, with many wanting to use the same devices at work as they do at home. The popularity of the Apple iOS as the favourite mobile platform amongst workers has been on the rise and security software provider Check Point Software has carried out a study in order to prove this point.
More than seven hundred IT professionals were polled as part of the Check Point study and the results showed that the Apple iOS accounted for thirty percent of all traffic on their networks. However, whilst Research in Motion has not been having a great deal of success of late its BlackBerry was hot on the heels of the Apple iOS, accounting for twenty nine percent of all traffic.
The BlackBerry has been the corporate standard amongst businesses for some years but the fact that it has been overtaken by Apple is a sign of modern trends when it comes to business communications. However, it was found that a rising number of workers now use their personal devices for work as well as those supplied by their employer, which could explain the increase in the use of the Apple iOS.
