Comparing prices on all products and services these days has become not only something that is highly recommended in order for consumers to try and cut back on costs but also something that many consumers are embracing whole heartedly. This is something that many shoppers have been doing in order to save money, even when purchasing things such as a vacation.
According to recent reports, one of the main ways in which people shopping for a holiday and a wide range of other products and services are comparing deals is by using their smart phones and other mobile devices to make comparisons whilst they are in-store, so that they can make a quick and informed decision with regards to their purchases.
A report compiled as part of the Pew Research Center's Internet and American Life project showed that in 2011 a total of fifty two percent of holiday shoppers used mobile devices whilst in-store to compare prices, with around thirty three percent of them using their cell phones to do this.
Separate research indicated that the number of holiday shoppers who actually made their purchases online in 2011 was more than double the number seen in 2010. In 2011 14.6 percent of holiday shoppers made their purchase using a mobile device compared to just 5.6 percent in 2010.
