Blackberry Torch 9860 Review

One of the new features that you'll discover with the BlackBerry Torch 9860 is the signature QWERTY physical keyboard which is not present. But this does not mean it no longer caters to the hardcore texters. The keyboard still retains its sturdy and spacious stature while still offering decent travel that allows users to breeze through text messages despite the fact it is now on the touchscreen.
If you are a BlackBerry fan that is surrounded by Android users you will fit right in but if you are a business user that counts on the physical QWERTY keyboard to get through your day, this may not be the device for you. Despite this fact, there is a lot to love about the BlackBerry Torch 9860 with the 3.7 inch touchscreen display which boasts an impressive 800x480 resolution 24-bit display and supports over 253 ppi.
The hardware controls have the traditional BlackBerry design with a row of buttons in the front and optical trackpad. The side buttons are discreetly integrated to allow for easy volume control, use of shortcut key, lock, and mute functions with a port for 3.5mm headphone jack and microUSB port.
Another improvement featured with the BlackBerry Torch 9860 is the new operating system. The BlackBerry Torch has the BlackBerry OS 7 preinstalled which is twice as user friendly as the OS 6 and offers improved touch response. You can marvel in a multimedia experience with Liquid Graphics that make your applications come to life in vivid detail on a spectacular screen.
And did we mention capturing those unforgettable and spontaneous moments with 720 HD video which allows you to share memories with friends and family? Or how about the impressive 5 megapixel autofocus camera which maintains autofocus even while recording HD videos? It would be unfair to forget about the speedy 1.2 GHz processor and 768MB RAM that provides an effortless viewing experience with a great GPU that delivers superb graphics.
The Torch 9860 version supports 3G however it has yet to support 4g where in contrast the Torch 9850 the CDMA / GSM version supports both 4G and 3G. The Torch 9860 also supports WiFi, Bluetooth connectivity, and NFC technology to keep you connected without sacrificing your active lifestyle. And you will always be able to find your way through the day with the GPS and BlackBerry map features.
The BlackBerry Torch measures 4.72 x 2.44 x 0.45 inches, and weighs about 4.76 ounces. Another improvement featured with the BlackBerry Torch 9860 is that it comes with a load of memory; this model has 768MB of RAM and
2GB eMMC and is expandable up to 32GB with a microSD memory card.
The BlackBerry Torch 9860 WiFi is 802.11 b/g/n enabled with access to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, Internet Bundle, and direct IP web browsing over WiFi. And don’t’ worry about not making it through your day with the 1230 mZh removable/rechargeable lithium ion battery which provides you with 6.8 hours of talk time, 13.9 days of standby time, music playback of up to 44 hours, and video playback of up to 6.6 hours. More than enough fuel to support you plus enjoy some entertainment with friends.
