Blackberry Pearl 8120 Titanium Review
By admin on March 2nd, 2010
The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 Titanium is one of the most WiFi friendly phones available on the market. It is compact and offers a lot of great features, including a 2-megapixel camera that also has video recording capabilities, though the quality of video is not all that good.
For those people who are already familiar with the BlackBerry Operating System, using this phone won’t be difficult at all, but if you have never owned a BlackBerry using the SureType keyboard will take a lot of getting used to. Navigation might be a problem if you don’t have some really small hands, but aside from that the keyboard does work well. Once you get accustomed to this type of keyboard, sending email and text messages is fairly simple.
With WiFi included with the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 phone, surfing the web is faster, and a much more pleasant experience. The call quality of this phone is very good, including when using the speakerphone.
The design of the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 Titanium is good for men and women, its not too flashy or feminine, but it’s also not so bulky that women don’t want to carry it around with them. It measures 4.2” X 1.9” X 0.5” and weighs 3.2 ounces. There is a 2.25-inch color display with up to 65,000 colors and 260x240 pixel resolution with auto sensing technology that will automatically adjust the screen’s brightness to accommodate for the lighting environment.
Some of the voice features that you’ll get with this phone include voice activated dialing, and speakerphone; this phone also supports text messaging as well as multimedia messaging. You will also get an address book that you can fill up with a lot of names due to the fact that the only limit to the number of contacts you can store is determined by the available memory.
Another nice feature that the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 phone offers is an enhanced Caller ID; with this feature you can add a photo to each contact so that their picture comes up when they call.
There is no built in GPS, but there is Bluetooth so you could use a Bluetooth GPS receiver. The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 Titanium has a battery life that is rated for 4 hours of talk time and up to 15 days of standby time.
The best feature of this phone is the built in WiFi, which when you add hotspot calling to your plan can really save you a lot of money on your cell phone bill. The main problem with the BlackBerry 8120 Pearl is that the keyboard is a little cramped.
