Blackberry Bold 9930 Review

When you pick up the BlackBerry Bold 9930 the difference from past models is apparent with a brushed stainless steel rim which adds a touch of class and a substantial and continuous rubberized band which shows potential to guard against serious drops. The durable rubberized band still manages to leave room for necessary ports and buttons including a convenience key which activates the 5 megapixel camera. You will also find readily accessible openings for a 3.5mm headphone jack and mini USB port.

The BlackBerry Bold 9930 measures 4.53 x 2.60 x 0.41 inches, and weighs in at about 54.6 ounces. The BlackBerry Bold 9930 features a brilliant VGA 640 x 480 resolution 2.8-inch Liquid Graphics touch screen that provides effortless animations and immediate response times. We think you will also like the tactile backlit keyboard that is likely one of the best in the industry and designed for hard core messaging fans that believe in a two-thumb matter.
And just when you thought that storing and viewing multimedia on a mobile device was a hassle…well, no more. Another improvement you will like with the BlackBerry Bold 9930 is that it comes with twice as much memory at 756MB RAM and 8GB onboard with a super speedy QC 8655 1.2 GHz processor. And that’s not all…..the memory is expandable up to 4 GB with an optional uSD card.
In light of all the improvements the battery life for the BlackBerry Bold 9930 has proved to be resolute with 1230 mAh pack with about 6.6 hours of talk time and 12.8 days of standby. When we tested the battery life using email and social networking updates the BlackBerry 9930 battery was able to run a marathon through a full day. If you use updates in conjunction with hefty phone calling it may be wise for hardcore fans to invest in a spare battery.
Another improvement you will like in the BlackBerry 9930 is that some of the features which were criticized in the earlier Bold smartphones have been acknowledged by Research in Motion. The state-of-the-art keyboard which is RIM’s signature invention has the style of the earlier 9000 with just enough improvements to place it over the top of other smartphone keyboards. The addition of the touchscreen and the faster BlackBerry OS 7 spends less time displaying the clock and more time allowing you to cruise through app functions.
WiFi connectivity is a respectable 802.11 2.4 GHz b/g/n, 5GHz a/n with access to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, BlackBerry Internet Bundle, and Direct IP web browsing over WiFi. Throw in an integrated GPS and the BlackBerry maps features and you can go anywhere without losing your way in cyberspace or on the street.
Despite all of the new features in the BlackBerry Bold 9930 some consider to still be playing catch-up to other smartphone devices. However, if you are a die hard BlackBerry fan we think you will be pleased with the new Bold 9930 as a worthy upgrade to your earlier model.
