When watching video on this handset you will be surprised at the quality of the picture, there isn’t the blurring that you usually get when viewing video on a phone screen. Aside from the improvement with the display, you will also notice that the BlackBerry 9000 Bold is more elegant than past models, it features a lot more curves and has a black casing that is enhanced with silver trimming.
Another nice feature of the BlackBerry Bold 9000 is the QWERTY keyboard, which has relatively large buttons, which make it easy to use. Of course the outside of this phone isn’t the only place you’ll find some improvements; this handset has an array of wireless options including HSDPA/UMTS (850/1900/2100) support. In addition to this, there is built in WiFi, support for Bluetooth, as well as GPS.
With the BlackBerry 9000, you also get a lot of multimedia features, including an improvement with the web browser. The browser gives you the option of viewing web pages in full HTML so that you get a web surfing experience that is a lot like on your home PC.
Some of the extra features you’ll get with this smartphone include a 2-megapixel camera that has video recording capabilities and up to 5x zoom. The music and video player supports a variety of different file formats including, MP3, WMA, AAC, DivX4, and WMV3 formats. The BlackBerry Bold 9000 offers outstanding sound quality when compared to many other mobile phones.
Of course you also get good phone quality as well as the ability to send and receive email, as well as all the other messaging options available with other previous models. For the business user there is a document viewer that includes the ability to edit documents as well.
With all of these features they have included a 624MHz Intel PXA270 processor with the BlackBerry Bold 9000 so this phone should have no problems with performance. As for memory, there is 1GB of onboard memory and the ability to expand that memory with a microSD card.
The BlackBerry Bold 9000 price is slightly high, but if you choose to sign with a carrier there shouldn’t be too much of a problem getting this phone at a discount, and possibly free. If you are searching for a high quality smartphone that does what it is suppose to do, it may be time to look at the BlackBerry 9000 Bold.
