One of the recent handsets to be released is the Blackberry Bold 9780, which uses the classic Blackberry design that is so popular with regular users of Blackberry devices. All the features and facilities on this handset are geared towards the business user although there are still plenty of regular users that will find the Blackberry Bold 9780 a great cell phone to have.
Unlike many of the other cell phones that are on offer these days the Blackberry Bold 9780 has opted to go for the simply yet highly efficient route in an effort to get more business users to go for their new handset. The Bold 9780 is a robust and well designed handset that offers users a variety of impressive features and facilities including:
- A 2.44 inch wide high resolution 480 x 360 display
- The latest Blackberry 6 operating system that has been made more user friendly and much faster at opening apps
- Email integration for up to 10 mail account as well as contacts, calendar and other important information all in a single place
- Application switcher that allows users to jump back and forth between apps for easier multitasking
- Onboard memory of 512MB along with a external memory card that provide 2GB of data storage
The Bold 9780 has a great number of benefits for business users as well as for those looking for a general purpose handset but there are both advantages and disadvantages to consider if you are considering getting this cell phone.
Pros
- Full Keyboard: Like many of the Blackberry models this cell phone has a full keyboard below the screen that my texting and typing in apps far easier than many other touch screen handsets
- Great Battery Life: Users can benefit from an incredible standby time of up to 22 days and for continuous music playback users can expect the battery to last up to 36 hours
- Wide range of business tools: This handset has been designed to cater primary for the business user and as such it comes with a great range of built in business features as well as having plenty of business apps available from its app store
Cons
- No touchscreen: With the advancement made by other major handset manufacturers it seems odd that the Blackberry Bold 9780 doesn’t have touchscreen and has to rely of the old style button based navigation
- Handset size: Even with its small screen this handset is quite a large size which is probably due to the keyboard on the phone
- Small apps store: When compared to the ever expanding range of apps found in the iPhone and Android apps stores the Blackberry does seen to have a very small number of apps by comparison
